In this section we will answer the most common questions you should be asking your breeder!
Top 5 Questions
Question 1
1. Are parents proven and clear of genetic problems discussed in Giant Schnauzer health and Giant Schnauzer health awards? Are you able to produce copies of all the tests?

Answer- Absolutely, both our dam and sire have undergone comprehensive testing through OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and Embark tests to ensure they are free of genetic health issues. We are committed to transparency and the well-being of our Giant Schnauzer puppies, and we are more than willing to provide copies of all the test results upon request. In addition to the OFA testing, we have obtained x-rays from our veterinarian for hip dysplasia evaluation, and the results have been thoroughly examined by three board-certified radiologists accredited by OFA, further affirming the health and quality of our breeding stock. We prioritize the health and genetic integrity of our Giant Schnauzers, and we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in our breeding program.
Question 2
2. How old is the Dam? How many times has she been bred?

Answer - Our Dam just turned 2 years old on February 24th, 2024. She has not been bred before. Similarly, our male, who is also 2 years old, born on November 22nd, 2023, has never sired a litter. We prioritize the health and well-being of our dogs, ensuring they reach physical maturity and are in optimal condition before considering breeding. This approach aligns with our commitment to responsible and ethical breeding practices
Question 3
3. Why did you choose the dogs we used? What were we looking for? What was the purpose of this breeding? What improvements were we after?

Answer-
Our decision to breed Echo and Lady stemmed from a careful consideration of various factors. Echo, our male, was selected not only for his impressive size but also for his gentle and loving personality. We believe these traits are crucial for Giant Schnauzers, especially in today's society where there's a growing demand for family-oriented dogs. Echo's eagerness to shower affection makes him an ideal companion for families seeking a loyal and affectionate pet.
On the other hand, Lady brings an impressive lineage to the table, being a 5th generation AKC champion bloodline working dog. Beyond her lineage, Lady possesses a remarkable eagerness to please, making her an exceptional partner for various training tasks and a delightful cuddle buddy on the couch. Both Echo and Lady exhibit exceptional personalities, making them outstanding companions in every aspect of life.
The purpose of this breeding was to combine the best qualities of both dogs to produce offspring that not only inherit their impressive physical attributes but also their gentle and loving temperaments. Our goal was to contribute positively to the Giant Schnauzer breed by producing puppies that embody the breed standard while also being well-suited for family life, training, and companionship. Through this breeding, we aimed to enhance and preserve the breed's qualities for future generations to enjoy.
Question 4
4. What faults does the dam and sire have?

Answer -
While both Echo and Lady possess many admirable qualities, it's important to acknowledge their individual quirks and areas for improvement. Echo, despite his loving nature, can sometimes exhibit shyness and lack confidence in unfamiliar public places. Additionally, he may become overstimulated easily, leading to moments where he forgets his manners, such as jumping up on people or barking loudly. We're actively working on addressing these behaviors through training and socialization to ensure Echo becomes more comfortable and confident in various environments.
On the other hand, Lady's boundless energy and enthusiasm for playtime are remarkable traits, but they can sometimes lead to challenges. She has a tendency to push herself to the limit, playing or running until exhaustion sets in. Furthermore, Lady has a persistent habit of nudging objects with her nose, akin to a cat pawing at things on countertops. This behavior, while endearing, can be problematic if left unchecked.
Despite these faults, both Echo and Lady are cherished members of our family, and we are committed to addressing and managing these behaviors through positive reinforcement training and behavioral interventions. Our goal is to help them overcome these challenges and continue to thrive as beloved companions. We believe in transparency regarding our dogs' characteristics, both positive and negative, to ensure potential owners are well-informed before making a decision.
Question 5
5. What are the living conditions of your dogs? Are they used to children; other dogs; other animals?

Answer -
Our dogs, Echo and Lady, are very much a part of our family and enjoy comfortable living conditions that prioritize their well-being and happiness. During the night, they have designated crates for rest, but during the day, they have the freedom to roam indoors and in our fenced backyard. We believe in providing ample space for them to move around and explore, fostering a sense of freedom and contentment.
In terms of their daily routine, we practice free feeding, ensuring they have access to food throughout the day, and they also have constant access to fresh water. While they are free to roam most areas of the house, there are a few restricted areas such as the guest room, bathrooms, and our bedroom. You'll often find them stationed in the kitchen, eagerly awaiting any potential treats or scraps that may fall their way.
Our dogs are well-socialized and accustomed to interacting with children, other dogs, and various animals. They thrive in the company of others and enjoy playful interactions. We believe in providing them with diverse social experiences to ensure they are comfortable and confident in different settings. Overall, our home is a loving and inclusive environment where Echo and Lady are cherished members of the family.
